Veranstalter: Technische Universität Wien, Institut für Handhabungstechnik und Robotertechnik in Zusammenarbeit mit der Oakland University in Rochester/Michigan

Voraussetzungen: It is designed to prepare graduates from technical and economic universities for leadership roles in technical, corporate and national affairs. The program will also be especially valuable for individuals who have already started their management career.

Graduates from other universities and from technology programs (FH, HTL) with significant practical experience.
Persons with similar qualifications.

Zielsetzung: Up to now, conventional engineering education throughout Europe, which has been dominated by technical subjects, has had little to offer in interdisciplinary academic training. Topics relating to economics, business management and jurisprudence have been considered voluntary exercises rather than compulsory subjects. Vice versa, graduates from business schools, for example, have rarely had the chance to extend their knowledge in the technical sciences. However: In the near future there will be an increasing demand for top executives with specialized knowledge in technical subjects and in business administration, marketing and/or legal matters – in a nutshell, there will be a demand for Engineering Managers. In order to meet the industry‘s need for comprehensively trained executives, universities in the United States of America have begun to offer Engineering Management Programs. The number of students enrolling in these interdisciplinary programs has increased dramtically in the USA over the past few years. This Engineering Management Executive Education Program that is available now has been developed by Vienna University of Technology (in cooperation with Oakland University in Rochester/Michigan). It is tailor-made for Europe’s small and medium-sized enterprises facing a growing and increasingly competitive market.

Inhalte: The presented modular and open program is an optimal combination between „High Tech“ fields like CIM, IMS (intelligent manufacturing systems), Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering and others like Marketing, Management topics, Financing, International Law, Presentation techniques …

Dauer: 2 semesters

Abschluss: All participants of the Engineering Management Executive Education Program will earn a Certificate degree from the Oakland University and the Vienna University of Technology.
